Ursuline Mother House for 83 Years
On Sunday, Dec.3rd. many friends gathered with the sisters in Blue Point to share an Open House as we prepare through necessity to sell what has been our home since 1935. We look forward to their continued support and friendship.

On October 15, 2016 Sisters, Associates, Family and Friends celebrated the 50th Jubilee of Sr. Mary Ellen Theriault, OSU.
A Mass of Thanksgiving was followed by an enjoyable dinner.

In June 2016 our sisters gathered in Blue Point to elect the Leadership Team for the next five years.The team consists of a Province Leader and three Councilors. The new US Province Leader is Sr. Joanne Callahan pictured with the outgoing Leader, Sr. Catherine Talia. The middle picture features Sr. Edith Menegus with Sr.Bimla Minj, our Ursuline Congregation Leader. The picture on the right is the entire Leadership team with Sr. Edith, Sr. Laurentine Morgan, Sr. Joanne and Sr.Mary Ellen Theriault.

On July 23,2016, the sisters celebrated the Installation of the Leadership Team (pictured above). Pictured below are the newly elected with family and friends at the reception in Blue Point.

On May 22,2016 the Sisters joined with Sr. Cecilia, her family and friends to celebrate her 100 years of life. The afternoon featured a prayer service of gratitude and thanksgiving presided over by Bishop John C. Dunne. This was followed by a celebration with music, refreshments and joyful conversation. Happy Birthday, Cecilia and Thank You....

On April 9th,2016 the Campbell family came from far and wide to celebrate the 90th Birthday of their favorite Sister, Sr. Germaine Campbell, lovingly known to all as "Aunt Ruth". Family and sisters gathered for Mass in the chapel followed by a delicious meal complete with a video presentation of sister's life with her family and her career as an Ursuline. It was just a joyful day shared with a wonderful family.

It was a pleasure to represent our Ursuline Sisters and join with three other religious communities to give classroom presentations on Religious life to students at Ave Maria Catholic Academy (formerly Our Lady of Grace). I shared many happy memories of a fine school which will always be OLG to me.


ANNUAL HOLIDAY CRAFT FAIR 2015


Many volunteers and friends participated in the Ursuline Christmas Craft Fair for the benefit of the retired Sisters . It was so encouraging to see the support given by all who appreciate the the lives of the Sisters.....



On October 10, 2015 The Nativity Alumni Association held its Annual Luncheon at Bruno's Restaurant, Howard Beach, NY We wish to thank all the Alumni for their love and support of the Ursuline Sisters and their presence at this enjoyable event.

It is a joy and privilege to thank our dedicated volunteers who tirelessly give of their time and talent contributing to the support of our sisters by organizing various projects throughout the year.

A fine group of friends of the Ursulines enjoyed a good old Summertime Tea at St. Ursula Center, Blue Point. The highlight of the afternoon was a graphic history of the area dating back to 1914 given by Gene Horton the well known local historian and long time friend of the Sisters.

U.S. Province Weekend

June 27-29, 2014

The Sisters and Associates spent time in prayer and study preparing for the Congregations' General Chapter to be held in Pune, India, October , 2014. Pictured below are the delegates to the Chapter.

Our Ursuline Associates renewed their Covenants at the Saturday evening Liturgy.


The weekend concluded with the Sisters gathering and celebrating with those who have been supporting our lives and ministries over the years.

"SWINGING FOR THE SISTERS"


on Monday June 23, 2014 at the Knollwood Country Club, Elmsford, NY.

Many participated in this worthy cause which was for the support of the sisters in retirement and all had a delightful day.

On June 23, 2012 the Sisters and Associates participated in a Liturgy celebrating the acceptance of a new

Associate Member, Maureen Fulford and the renewal of the Associates' Covenants.

Mass was followesd by a delightful dinner in St. Ursula Center.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR LADY OF VICTORY SCHOOL HONOREES

Our Lady of Victory School, West Haven, CT,celebrated its Sixth Annual Viking Honoree Mass and Dinner on February 19, 2011. The following individuals received the Fr. Thomas J. McMahon Distinguished Service Award: Alumni: Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Mahon Past Parents: Mr. & Mrs. Martin Pitoniak Faculty: Sister Laurentine Morgan, OSU These individuals have brought their time, talent, dedication and commitment to Our Lady of Victory parish family, affording us the privilege of celebrating over 40 years of excellence in education. This is the highest honor Our Lady of Victory Parish bestows.

CONGRATULATIONS

Sr. Helen Chasse

Sr. Helen, Director of Tabor Retreat Center, has been chosen WOMAN OF THE YEAR by the Zonta International organization.

Zonta International is a global organization of executives and professionals working to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy. The award will be presented in March, 2009.




On Sept. 13,2009 the Sisters, Associates and friends gathered together at Nativity BVM Church, Ozone Park, NY to participate in a Liturgy celebrating their 85th Anniversary.

The Ursuline Associate Team hosted a Come and See Tea in Oxford CT. About 30 men and women attended from West Haven, Meriden, Oxford and Danbury.

The purpose of the gathering was to acquaint the group with St. Angela Merici as a woman for all times.

The group listened attentively as sisters and associates spoke of their personal convictions and love of Angela.

Slides, prayer and a social rounded out the afternoon.
  


A "Second Look" took place in November 2009.

On January 24,2009,Sisters and Associates gathered in celebration and prayer as they renewed their commitment to the values and counsels of their foundress, St. Angela on whose feast they celebrated.

On Sunday, April 10, 2011, the Diocese of Rockville Centre honored:

Sister Joanne Callahan, OSU

for enfleshing the charism of your congregation and enriching the faith of the people of the Diocese of Rockville Centre. In presenting the Award to Sister Joanne, Brother James McVeigh, OSF, Vicar for Religious, said, "we honor you for your leadership role in Catholic education through the years and in particular as Superintendent of Schools. In your ministry and your life, Joanne, you witness the gospel by enfleshing the spirit of St. Angela Merici."

Sr. Catherine Talia,

teaching English as a second language to her class of 26 students at the Maura Clarke/Ita Ford Center in Bushwick, Bklyn.

The Center has been in operation for 15 years providing this service to all who wish to become proficient in a second language.
